Caregiver Advocacy Program
- FRIA empowers and assist seniors and caregivers to resolve individual problems regarding quality of care, abuse/neglect, residents rights and caregiver rights arising from long term care services
- FRIA intervenes with facilities and government, where appropriate

- Supports family organizations at nursing homes
- Recruits and trains leaders
- Supplies educational materials
- Convenes leaders' coalition meetings
Consumer Education
- Community education meetings to teach advocacy skills and address care problems

- Presentations to community-based social service agency staff, civic and service groups
Public Policy Advocacy
- Speaks on legislation, regulations, public agency and provider practices and standards to strengthen consumer protection and improve health care
- Trains and supports consumers to speak out on nursing home issues
- Connects nursing home residents and relatives with the media, government agencies, and academic researchers
