Help When You Need It!
The
following is a list of organizations and groups that provide support
to individuals who are caregivers to relatives, friends and spouses.
This list is current as of June 2003. Always call ahead to verify dates, time and location. Some of these programs
run groups that address specific needs such as caregivers coping
with someone who has Parkinson's disease, cancer, and bereavement.
Ask the contact about the specifics of the group and if the group
is appropriate for those who have
family members in nursing homes.
Unless noted, there is no charge for these services.
Self-
Help
This
organization will give you referrals to support groups in your area.
In addition, they provide assistance
for those who are interested in forming their own support group.
Speakers from the organization
will make public presentations for large groups.
