FRIA's first Executive Director and current Board Member Ethel Paley was honored for her contributions in the field of health by New York City Comptroller John Liu in celebration of Women's History Month on Tuesday, March 23 in the lobby of the Surrogate's Courthouse at 31 Chambers Street.

The award was presented in collaboration with the Women's City Club of New York. Ms Paley also serves on the board of that organization. FRIA is extremely proud of Ms. Paley's accomplishments and grateful for her tireless work on behalf of New York's frail elderly population in long term care.

FRIA Helpline Director Amy Torres is appointed to the New York State Department of Health Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administration (BENHA).  As a member of the Board Amy will help determine licensing of nursing home administrators. This is quite an honor.
