DOH to Improve Nursing Home Complaint System
 

After years of complaints from consumers about ineffective complaint handling, the State Department of Health has agreed to improve record keeping and training of staff responsible for taking telephone complaints. 
FRIA Program Director Jennifer Weiss and board member Ethel Paley (Womens' City Club) have joined a DOH work group to plan the training curriculum.  NYC Long-term Care Ombudsman Program Director Jacqueline Case is also part of this group.
